Green Beverage Day

Unless I (and Wikipedia) am (are) quite mistaken, my school is credited with the invention of Green Beer Day in 1952.  So this is my tribute to GBD 2012.  Corset!  Yeah.  ;)

black and brown foliage corset : eBay (it is VERY well made, and only cost me like $10)
taupe pants : hand-me-down from Ima

Bomber

Smile, and today will be a good day :)  So a little background to this one.  The blue dress under the corset (yes, it's a dress) is actually a maxi, but I liked a shorter look with the corset.  Long, it looked too long and slim, whereas short it kind of balances out the poofy sleeves.  As for the corset--the "boned" part is actually made of some sort of metal wiring, and so while perhaps it is better for my rib cage and all the things inside, it completely ruins the shape of the corset.  Unless I am standing up straight, it puckers and makes a little "fat roll".  This can kind of be seen in the second picture.  At least, it encourages me to sit up straight :)

powder blue maxi sundress : thrift store
Tripp corset : my first eBay purchase
white long underwear : Goodwill
black Italian boots : hand-me-down from Ima

"You are a smelly pirate hooker!"

The reason there doesn't seem to be quite as much going on with this outfit, is that the focal point is obviously my top.  Believe me, I've tried a number of other bottoms--and they all make it look like a pirate or a witch costume.  I love costumes, but as an outfit to wear at school after work...maybe not just yet =3  And so!  Notice the detail photo, of my cameo necklace.  Title reference:  Anchorman, of course!  And I am SO not a smelly pirate hooker.

white Tripp brand corset top : eBay (yes, that's right!)
black tank : hand-me-down-from Ima
best fitting jeans ever : Wal-Mart
black fishnet knee stockings : some department store, a gift from my grandmother Janis
black vintage-influenced mary jane heels : Plato's Closet

Wow, almost everything was originally bought for me!  haha :)
